Fumic

Fumic Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Fumic, published by TheIdealDev52, handles information when you use the Windows desktop app. It applies to users in all countries where Fumic is available.

Last updated: Offline playback No account required

1. Information processed on your device

Fumic is a local audio and video player. No account or sign-in is required. On first launch, it looks for media in the Music and Videos folders under your Windows user profile. You can also add other library folders.

To provide its features, Fumic accesses media files, file and folder paths, media metadata, embedded artwork, and images you select as custom backgrounds or cover art. These files and paths may contain personal information.

Fumic processes this information on your device to scan and display your library, play media, show artwork, generate visualizer information, and remember your choices. It stores settings, library paths, playlists, metadata and artwork caches, and managed copies of custom images in local application storage.

2. Information sent to the developer

Fumic does not automatically collect or send your media, file paths, playlists, settings, or usage activity to the developer. The app does not include advertising, analytics, telemetry, or cloud synchronization. Local playback does not require an internet connection.

The developer does not receive, sell, or share your local library or app data through Fumic.

3. External links, support, and Microsoft services

When you select an external link in Fumic's Info page, the app copies that link to your clipboard and opens it in your default browser. The destination website handles browser traffic under its own privacy policy. Fumic does not upload your local library when opening these links.

If you choose to contact the developer or submit a support report, the developer may receive the information you provide, such as your message, contact details, screenshots, or diagnostic details. This information is used to respond to your request and investigate reported issues. Only share information needed for support. GitHub issues are public; do not post private media, sensitive information, or personal file paths there. The service you use to contact the developer also processes information under its own policies.

Microsoft Store and Windows may independently process account, installation, update, or diagnostic information under Microsoft's privacy policies. This policy covers Fumic's behavior, not Microsoft's or external websites' services.

4. Storage, retention, and your choices

You can manage library folders, playlists, custom artwork, backgrounds, and preferences using the app's available controls. Removing a library folder from Fumic does not delete the original media files.

Saved settings and caches may remain in local application storage until replaced or deleted. Removing an item from the library does not necessarily erase its cached metadata or artwork. To remove all local app data, delete Fumic's application data using the appropriate Windows or file management controls. Uninstallation and data removal behavior may vary by installation method. Your original media files remain under your control.

Local app data relies on your Windows account and device security. Fumic does not add separate encryption to its settings and cache files. The developer cannot remotely access, export, or delete data stored only on your device.

Depending on your location, you may have rights concerning personal information you provide directly for support, including access, correction, or deletion. Contact the developer to make a request; applicable legal requirements and the support service's own procedures may affect how it can be handled.

5. Children's privacy

Fumic does not require users to provide their age or create an account, and does not automatically collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to the developer through a support channel, contact the developer to request its removal, subject to applicable law.

6. Changes and contact

This policy may be updated when Fumic's features or information handling practices change. The latest policy will show an updated date.
